Hi Dawn How sure are you they were baptised in Newington? Is that something they put on a census? Had a look on the IGI and there is this baptism - slight variation on the surname but that's not unusual, especially with an uncommon name like Fossett - it is bound to be spelt differently (probably phonetically) by various registrars back then. WILLIAM JOSEPH FAUCETT - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 15 OCT 1786 Saint Saviour, Southwark, Surrey, England - son of William and Mary Ann Southwark and Newington bordered each other so quite possible that someone born in a Southwark parish could have been brought up in Newington if the family moved around a little. In 1830 there is a baptism of a BENJAMIN KING FOSSETT in Walworth (son of a William Fossett and Jeanette) - again, this is another area of Southwark. What about this lot - do you recognise any of these names as siblings to the other two men? All shown with parents William and Mary Ann 1. Elizabeth Faucitt - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 22 MAY 1799 St George The Martyr'S, Southwark, Surrey, England 2. Nancy Faucitt - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 18 SEP 1791 St George The Martyr, Southwark, Surrey, England 3. ROBERT WILLIAM FASSETT - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 30 MAY 1819 Saint Mary, Newington, Surrey, England 4. Matilda Fawcett - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 07 DEC 1803 St Mary'S, Lambeth, Surrey, England Not sure that's helped much but it's all I could find for now.
