When I go on this site and I am looking for a female on the 1881 when I know her husband had died not really sure what to put in because she will be married therefore I can't put her maiden name in and birth date any advice please.

If you know when and where she was born then you could just try searching by her first name, year of birth and place of birth - if familysearch doesn't allow you to search like that, you can search 1881 on Ancestry for free. Alex

Sue, do you know her married surname? If you do, then search using that, and you can put in her birth date, but select a few years either side in case her age is not exactly right. (If you don't know her married surname, then how do you know her husband had died?) Kate.
