The easy answer is to order his birth certificate.... if he was born after Sept Q 1837. How come two DOB's? Where did the information come from? Alex

Do you mean you have two people of the same name being born in the same qtr of the same year, OR do you mean that you have one name and someone has given you two different dates of birth for him? Kath. x

Do you know the parent's names for the one who is your relative? If so, then you could order one of the birth certificates and give the parent's names as a checking point, so that the certificate will only be issued if the parents names match what you give. Kath. x

Good point Kathleen . At 20 dollars a go a bit expensive but it may come down to that Sheila

Not sure what 20 Australian dollars are worth, lol. It costs £7 over here for a certificate. Is that about the same? Kath. x

If the two males have different mothers and they were born since 1910, then the birth index would have mothers maiden name. If that's any help. Mel.

At today's exchange rate it is 2 dollers to the pound and on top of that snail mail will take 7/10 days Sheila

Shiela - my last certificate took 12 days - and I'm in England, lol. Mel - Good point. If these men could possibly still be alive, then they were likely to be born after 1911 when mother's maiden name is given in the index. Do you want to give us the details Shiela (in a p.m. if you don't want to put living people's details on the boards) and see if we can come up with an answer? Kath. x
