My parents didn't have a phone until 1972, my paternal Grandparents were trail blazers in 1965...First known relations to have a phone on either side of my family! I can remember being taken to the local phone box. Push Buttons A, B and C lol :))) So Nan and Grandad could check their phone was working! Nan and Grandad lived 1 minutes walk away!!!! They had a shared line.....Anyone remember them? Sadly the Ancestry Phone Books don't cover my Essex and London ancestors yet......But then I guess they were probably too poor to have a phone:( lol Chris |

Oh Chris how funny I remember my parents had their first phone in 1971 and sat there waiting for my Nan to call them ( she worked at GPO) I can still see their faces now light up when it rang..........LOL |
