I have never used a scanner before, so could someone help me please, is it possible to load a picture direct from scanner in to Family Tree Maker scrapbook or must I send it somewhere else first, hope you can understand what I mean. Thanks Liz. |

Usually you scan in a photo and save it as a jpeg file in a designated folder - you should then be able to upload the picture from that folder into your programme like you do with any other file. Alex |

Yeah if there is an option on there (I dont have FTM) then its always worth a go. But its always worth saving a copy of the picture into a designated file anyway - eg if you have a folder on your pc dedicated to family tree stuff. Just in case anything happens to your FTM software - its good to have another copy of the picture somewhere else - and make regular backups of your info onto CD - if you can. You just never know when something might go wrong and its always good to have a back up! I spent an age scanning in all my certificates so that I have copies of them and I have a back up of them too.
