hi ,on the picture i have is a large woman ,with 5 boys, 2 small at the front ,one in a sailor suit,(supposed to be my grandad)and 1 in short pants suits, all in suits ,eldest in long pants about 15/6 yrs old, but im not good in placeing the year. jean

Do their clothes give any hint of era?....... not easy if the family weren't too well off and seemed to wear the same type of clothes for many years. I have too many James too, ......except for when they named their sons after their father William, as did their brothers of course! Gwyn

Quite likely mistaken - can you date the pic by the clothes, surroundings etc. - it should be fairly obvious then if it's your grandmother or your mum's grandmother - easy to mistake when you're chatting to your mum. You know how old you are, presume you know the year of your mum's birth, and probably your grandad's so try dating the pic that way, should give you the answer. Regards Looby

hi all. i have been trying to work out my taylor family for over a year,i have a photo of my grandma with 5 sons, my mother said the youngest was her father james, so i have been trying to find the other brothers, now i realize my gt grandma had 5 sons, could my mum have been mistaken,it makes it harder when the names follow on in the families,so many james,es, just my moan for the day, jean
