I would like to order my grand mother's birth certficate but there is no birth entry on BMD. I have all her details: name, date, mother's name & surname, district and even the birth entry number. How can I order this cert if there is no BMD vol & page ref number? I know the details are correct as aunt gave them to me over the phone.

I wouldn't rely on information that anyone gives you. It is surprising how many people remember someone's birth date (day and month) but get the year wrong. Try looking a year or so either side of what you have been told. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen, These details are correct as my aunt has the birth cert with her in South Africa where the info came from. My gran's bd was a day after mine in June as well. I'll always remember her bd as the yr she was born was when Titanic sank. It's puzzling I can't find it as I 've even tried Sayer (s) & also with her 2nd name as 1st name.
