Genealogy Chat

I'm trying to find out the distance between Corcloon/Corclune and St. Catherine/Rossdagamph. ( St Catherine's was also known as Rossdagamph.) Both were located in Fermanagh in 1800. (Cannot find anything on google.) Thank you.

I live in NI in County Antrim. I don't recognise either of these place names. I wonder if they have been transcribed correctly or if you are looking at the original where the nearest large settlement was. Post the famine in the 1830s some villages were simply depopulated and never re-settled. Ireland's population dropped by about 40% from the 1830s on. It is only now starting to grow again. My guess would be these places don't exist anymore.

Sally, almost all of my Irish ancestors came to Canada around the famine times so I know a bit about the famines, but I never thought of the possibility of the towns disappearing. Thank you!
