Ancestry index only has one entry for 'Chuslum' , the one for 1891. So I strongly suspect Chuslum is a mistranscription. It also says he was born in Hinckley, not Leicester. Since the actual census image gives chuslum's age in the female column, I looked more closely. It isn't Chuslum, its Christina. As she is widowed, Chaplin would be her married surname, not her maiden name, so again, you would have to find out her husband's name on a previous census and then find a marriage to get her maiden name. Alternatively, maiden names would be on the birth certs of any of Christina or Lucretia's children. |

Not sure why you are saying other people looked on 1881 and some found Lucretia and Thomas and some didn't. You can look on 1881 census transcript yourself on www.familysearch.org If you want to find Lucretia, I believe on another thread you have that she is listed as widowed, so Iliffe wouldn't be her maiden name. You would need to go back through the censuses to get her husband's name and then find their marriage to get her maiden name. Then you can look for a baptism in parish records, which won't necessarily be online. |

The IGI on the Familysearch website isn't complete so just because they aren't on there doesn't mean they don't exist. You will need to check the parish registers for their baptisms. Sam x |

I'm baffled too. Where did you get this reference and why do you think they don't exist or have different names? |
