Thanks for that Jack. It is something I have wondered about, and even though my son was in the army, I never got round to asking him. It does indeed tell you all you need to know. I've saved to my favourites. Kath. x

Google 'military groupings' and select the second listing (starts with Nomenclature). It should tell you what you need to know. Jack

Does anyone know the differences between groups of soldiers. As in what is the difference between a battery and a company? Thanks, Ria :)
