Any mention of occupations to help match them? I have known people to switch round 1st and 2nd forenames, sign just 2nd forename or conjour up a completly new middle name. Anything is possible, I'm afraid. How common is Fenwick in the area? That might help you to decide. Gwyn |

hi. the occ of father on marriage is a puddler. on the 1841 he is listed as a fireman in iron works. a puddler is also concerned with iron work. there are quite a few Fenwicks but not many janes. the only other i have found for the right time and place her father was thomas. on all the census after her marriage she is just Jane |

Jane and Jane Elizabeth are quite likely to be the same people, I'd say. Would it be possible to look for Jane's baptism? You might find the right parents with a Jane Elizabeth. One of my ancestors is registered on GRO births as Silvey. At baptism she was Jane Sylvia and afterwards was usually just Jane on census or childrens' birth certs. She died as Jane. They don't make it easy, sometimes. Gwyn |

Who did Jane marry? ie. Who was the father of your ancestor. Maybe we could search on his name. It is possible that they married at a different time from what you expect, or in a different area. He could have married a Jane Elizabeth ??... a widow, whose maiden name was Fenwick. Gwyn |

The vicar would fill in the details as they were given by the couple. Did Hane sign with her middle name? I also have brides who invent names for their weddings. Husband's great grandmother, born as Rose, became Rosella on her wedding day. My gt gt aunt Annie decided to be Elizabeth Anne. If father's details match up I guess she's your girl. |
