Ancestor on a ship in 1901

Mine gives his date and place of birth, height, complexion and describes his tattoos etc. Then there is a list of the ships he served on and the dates so I was able to prove that the man I found in the 1901 census was him. It also records his date and cause of death because he died on board. Hope you find him Lyla |

thats interesting lyla i have an ancestor on a training ship in falmouth,would he have service records for his training and what a cheap price for a download. will go searching now bacardi xx |

Have you tried typing his name in the National Archives site? They have a lot of records online which you can download for about £3.50. If he is there it will hopefully give you a list of all the ships he served on, a description and lots of other interesting details. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/ Lyla |

Hi All, I've never posted on here before but use the resource itself quite regularly. I have found details of my G.G.Grandfather who died in 1925. While looking on the address search, 1901 census, the only person who matched was onboard HMS Prince George at the time. I have no way of really knowing if this is definitely the right person. Can anyone tell me where i may be able to find his service number from, or details of people serving on ships to check that the dates all add up properly. Thanks Kell |
