hi i have help from you guys in the past...have been researching for quite some time ...i need a little help researching a marriage... my gggf born John Collins 11/07/1840 in sedgley staffs...father Joseph Collins mother Rosamond Frost....in his marriage cert to Agnes Poulton on 6/01/1874 it states he was a widower....i have had no luck in researching his first marriage....it could either have been in Yorkshire or staffordshire..( he married agnes in Yorkshire redcar) also would like to know if they had children as i have an inclin she died in childbirth and therefore one of Johns children is from his first marriage and not to agnes as thought.... I would appreciate any help ...thanks xx thanks to those spending time xx

hello yvonne...thank you for reply....its complicated and have only recently realised the confusion i had i didnt realise it said widower on marriage cert....on 1881 cencus it has john and agnes wiht son w.rbrt.collins b1858cc ( william robert) they didnt get married until 1874....however william robert is in earlier cencus wiht John and his siblings with his parents and down as a grnadson.... John and agnes had a son willie R b 1879.... Have tried searching the records and found nothing but can only do it online adn records are limited ...xx

yvonne, xx have him in 1851 with family....1861 have him as a lodger in normanby yorkshire residing at 124 clarendon road as unmarried...i have his family without him...and this john collins connects to why he was in yorkshire when he met agnes..in 1861 census have agnes poulton as a lodger in rotheram.... have to find a marriage after 1861 before 1874.. thanks xx

thank you guys....Reg....agnes was born in Middlesex....and it is a misprint i think for William as i cant find a birht for him and that would mean agnes was his before she married john....i think that is incorrect as the 1871 cencus John is again wiht parents and siblings and william is down as the grandson... Yvonne thank you so much again x....i have ploughed thru and still cant find them its frustrating...as i said John and agnes had a son called willie r later....so either the first william is actually one of johns nephews or like i said his first wife died in childbirth or similar....i ned tio find his first wife or williams birth then nartually will follow his line when i know where he came from... thanks again...please help more if you can xx
