I have 2 memberships, one active one in OH's name for his adoptive side. I decided to import my gedcom to his to add to his adoptive side, as it's part of his family, thinking it would go on as second family but I was wrong it's wiped his adoptive side---Wot do I do now---help please! there was tons of stuff!!1 Carol |

If you have imported a GEDCOM you will have wiped what was there before, and unless you have a backup copy offline (such as a previously exported GEDCOM file), then you have lost the tree for good, I'm afraid. |

Follow the import/export tree link on left-hand menu, and scroll to bottom of page. There is a link to delete your tree there. Moral: Don't do that again! |

Charlie, I don't know if it is possible but why not contact GR and see if they still have the back up of the day before you imported. If we lose something at work we contact IT and they get the backup they have from the day before. You lose any work you do that day but get back from the day before. You have to be quick as obviously there a time in the day where everything is backed up again and stuff can no longer be found. Hope that is not too confusing. may be worth a go. Tina |
