How do i find a Husband?????

When i looked up someone on the 1901 census it has no husbands in the house! both women listed were married but to whom and how do i find that info! see below for look up; Victoria

hi, at the time of the 1901 census a lot of men were away at war (Boer war) so didn;t appear on the census.

In 1901 Lydia was widowed, Harriet was not married she was single. in 1891 Lydia was widowed and she was a grocer living at Woodend Handbury with Harriet. Harriets place of bith was given as Princes End Tipton Staffs. 1881 Woodend Handbury Lydia grocer and widowed, Harriet age 16 and 8 year old nephew George Causer is with her 1871 Handbury, grocers shop Lydia widowed, living with daughters Elizabeth 10 and Anne 9 both born in Bromby Staffs and Harriet 7 born in Tipton Next door is Thomas Causer 65? and wife Esther 60 1861 Bingo Parkgate House Abbotts Bromley Chartles Turner age ,farmer of 10? acres and ag lab, born warwickshire Birmingham Lydia wife age 23 Elizabeth daughter age 10 months born Abbots Bromley plus two lodgers Isaac woodings age 79 retired grocer born Abbots Bromley and his wife age 80 born Staffs Wolverhampton Linda
