For militia read Home Guard/Territorial Army type of service and you will see that they were very local units. Regards Keith |

i have a rellie on the 1861 ancestry census he is down (it looks like) sergent in militia he was in south mims barnet herts can anybody tell me who why and were there regi are gypsie |
