I have a lady who married in 1857 it says full age for both her and her husband yet she is on all census as born in 1841-2 would it have been possible to have lied about this as I believe somebody said the parents would have had to have given permission. thanks |

Hi Valerie Yes it was possible and they did lie. I have many examples of this. Pauline |

Were they married after banns? Was the church in their home parish? Perhaps they had parents consent anyway one way or another. Pauline |
