HI all, Don't know if anyone can help, but have recently got a new computer & had to re-install ntl broadband on it, sent off for the disc they advertise on the home page for 're-installing ntl on your new computer' it 'crashed' so phoned NTL and they talked me through it on the phone, connection working ok as is email and outlook, but every time I start up computer I get an error message saying 'Virtual Truck Driver' cannot be found please insert CD, didn't know what application this referred to ( as I had installed, Printer, Scanner, Digi Camera etc ) until I mentioned it to my son who says he gets exactly the same message at start-up, the only thing we both have the same is, NTL Broadband, so it must be something to do with that! Before I spend 3hrs!!!!! waiting for NTL to answer, has anyone any idea what ' Virtual Truck Driver' is???? Thanks Lynn.

Lynn I am on Telewest(NTL). Is your PC connected to the modem by USB or Ethernet? (like a big phone plug) I think the virtual truck thing is a USB driver. If you have the choice ALWAYS use ethernet. (does not need software) If you are using ethernet you shouldn't need the installer disk. There is some info here which should help you stop the message http://www.cableforum(.)co.uk/board/archive/index.php/t-1611.html Bob

Hi Bob, Will check out the Link, I'm connected by the Set-top Box & yes there is a a connection similar to a phone connection near the computer. Thanks for your help, will see what i can find out. Lynn.

Your set-top box has a modem inside. Remember not to use the disk in future. The links should stop your message. By the way Lynn I would check that your broadband speed is OK, the set top boxes are usually only capable of 1Mb. (telewest supplied me with a separate modem) Bob
