I've just been given a 'new' computer (my mum's old one). Everything seems fine but when I try to view GR, there are advertisements covering the board names. The only way to view a board is to tab about 20 times and finally press the enter key when I think I've reached teh correct board. Now that I've figured out how to get 'here', there are advertisements covering the 'title' and 'this area' (so I can't see most of what I'm tying). Any suggestions how to eliminate the advertisements, please? (I may not be able to post a reply until I've cleared this up.) Thank you. |

Hi Valerie. Thank you very much; things aer much better now, but unfortunately, there are still two little advertisements appearing. I can now at least see the board headings and click on them, but I cannot see part of what I'm typing because of the two little advertisements. Also, about three rows of text are difficult to read, which makes helping others almost impossible, as I can't read all of their original message. But thank you very much for your help, as I no longer have to tab to get to the message boards. And, I can post a response! :) |

They vary - camera, healthcare, insurance, windows and doors, etc. One box is above the other and the bottom box covers the top right corner of where we type our responses (as well as partially covering the Add Reply and Tips Board wording). Thank you, Valerie, I will try your suggestions. Thanks so much! |

Hi Margaret. I'm not sure how to leave the favourites open all the time (I know soooo little about computers). I will ask my older son when he returns home. Thank you for your advice. Shirley, it looks like Norton is enabled, so I'm not sure why it isn't blocking the adds. I had the same advertisement problems several months ago on my computer, but my son took care of the problem then, and now he says he doesn't know why they are appearing on this computer. I only work three days a week and I like to try to help with Canadian lookups on my days off and its frustrating when I can't see all of their information and I can't post a response. (I can post now, thanks to Valerie). Hi Valerie. I will see if my son can help with all of this. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Perhaps my son and I can clear all of this up tonight. Thank you again and if any of you need any Canadian lookups, I can try to help (can't promise any results). Must get back to cleaning the house. :( |

You could try clearing your temporary internet files and cookies (Tools/Internet options) either by 'Delete cookies' or manually via 'Show files' if you want to keep your log in details e.g. to GR to save entering them again. |

HI Margaret and Brian. Thank you for your help, I will try everything tonight. Actually, I did delete cookies today for another reason; at least I know how to do that. ;) |
