Just found out my great Grandad Died in Worthing 1917. William Wood-address of death is 'Caer Gwent' or 'caen Gwent' Wykeham Road, Worthing. Does any one know what this is maybe a nursing home or something? Have tried to google it but no joy. Also his actual address is listed as Jamaica Villa, Ethelwulf Road Worthing. Does this house still exist i wonder?? Thanks for any help given Tina

Google suggests that Ethelwulf Road is still there. It is possible that Jamaica Villa is still there but known by a house number these days. Maybe an old electoral list would tell you where it was in relation to other named buildings. Often older houses still have their names up on the glass above the front door, so maybe someone in the area, - or local library could help. Gwyn

Just googled 'Caer Gwent' and it has come up with a very swish looking care home, looks more like a hotel! But also looks like a very modern building. Any way have e-mailed them out of curiosity to ask if they used to be up the road. Was VERY tempted to book a week there to get away from my brood!
