Sharon, Halsmerer is obviously a mistranscription because there's nothing on that name anywhere. Do you know what it should be and why his surname was Relf? Rose |

I have found my gr gr grandfather thanks to the help of the lovely people on here. His name is Alfred Relf, born Cranbrook Kent 1856. According to the 1881 census he lived in Bromley st leonard with his mother and father Elizabeth and Henry Halsmerer, born Germany. I have searched and found his birth record which tallies up, but i cannot find any records on the 1861 and 1871 census. Anyone got any tips or clues of where i can go from here?? Thanks Sharon |
