John Gudgeon b 1857 Icklford herts found on the 1901 census No registered birth, marriage or death I know he was born I know he married a jane? b 1860 He also had two children Ethel b 1890 and Rosina b 1897 Why is this? Trying to find his parents

Registration wasn't compulsory until 1875, so the birth may not be registered. The marriage is a different scenario...........that should certainly be recorded. Roughly when did he marry? Where have you looked in your search for the info? Reg

hi kerry could this be him on death records , john gudgeon born apro 1858 died 1909 romford essex.

people di dnot always get married - sometimes they lied or got married after the birth of their children. If you order one of the childrens birth certificates that may give you some more clues. tom.,
