Fascinating wasn't it! But did you notice that even on this programme the commentator referred to the 'Registry Office' while the picture on the screen was of the title above the 'RegistER Office' (at, was it Stapleford?)! 'Registry' seems to trip off the tongue much more easily but is it ever accurate in this context? Quizzy Old Bat.

JEANETTE thanks for letting us know i nearly forgot it was on,,, my husband was just going to start watching a film,, but he let me watch my programme instead,,, think he knew that i would come on here straight after,, so he could watch what he liked then,,, debs

It was the Barbara Windsor one that set me off again, looking for my Irish rellies. I checked the census + found they came from Dublin! At least I am one step further!! Although Irish ancestors are NOT easy to track down! I thought it was VERY strange that Robert Lindsay arrived at the grave of his Aunt on the very same date! Spooky or what! my

Kevin, uncle Herbert died in 1988 in Lincolnshire (I looked on ancestry) Kate.

hi Ilkeston register office gosh that brings back memories well the whole programme did now what where his familys again I have to see if we are related. My dad worked at Stanton at the same time as him.Ah well days gone by and all that Laura
