Census day near Easter Day?

I have noticed that very often nieces and nephews are shown at their uncle's and aunt's household in the census, and it has led me to wonder if they were merely visiting for Easter. I will try to post the dates below as a table. Does anyone know how long the Easter school holidays were at the relevant dates? Did they include the census? |

Census day Easter Day 1851 30 March 20 April 1861 7 April 31 March 1871 2 April 9 April 1881 3 April 17 April 1891 5 April 29 March 1901 31 March 7 April Ah well, I did try to make a table ! Please nudge if you think it might be useful. |

That's an interesting thought, I'd not realised the possible significance of Easter. I have found young children with relatives, particularly if their mother has had, or is about to have another baby. Gwyn |
