Hi Shelley, Goto the following web site for the Union Workhouse in Gravesend http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/Gravesend/Gravesend.shtml Towards the bottom it says 'Records Centre for Kentish Studies, Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1XQ. Holdings include: Guardians' minutes (1835-1930); Births (1848-1913); Deaths (1871-1914); Creed registers (1924-39); Children's home superintendent's journal (1899-1916); etc.' There's a link to the Centre for Kentish Studies where you should be able to request info by email. I've had a good response using this method. Good luck Paul

If you go on to google, click on images and then type in Union Workshop Gravesend...it will bring up photos past and present, other info with subsequent links. I hope this is of some help. Linda

Can anyone tell me where I can look for the list of people staying at the Union Workhouse in Gravesend in September 1904. My Nan Annie Bartholomew was born there according to her birth cert, her mother Rose Bartholomew is the one I am trying to trace, she gives her place of residence as Union Workhouse Gravesend, Kent
