my grandad thomas thomas was born 29th feb 1904 which was a leap yr,i tried to send off for his birth cert well there is two in first q and 3 in 2q he has no middle name and was born mountain ash which i think makes it pontypridd district,well apart from ordering them all can i go to a records office and say his date of birth etc.and get it that way? thx karen

blimey there are loads of them arent there ??? I think if I was you I would go to a records office you could if you know it give his parents names as a reference.

Hi ya, Yes you should be able to do it that way. I got my grandads cert the same way, I phoned my local records office where he was born, payed over the phone by debit card and collected it the same day. Different Counties may have different policies though, so it is worth checking. Good luck Julie

Records Offices don't have birth certificates, you need the Register Office for Pontypridd. Sam x

i tried sending an email about how much etc but it keeps coming back post failure ,i think i will just write to them. thanks for all your help. really appreciate it karen
