Advice on protecting and Pereserveing old Diaries

Robert, if you google 'preserving old documents' there is loads of advice available.

Seek professional advice, and do not attempt anything like glue. You can usually find an archivist in a Records Office or somewhere else who may be able to help you. Janet

Have you thought of checking out a book on preserving written docs from your local library or e-books? Caz

Hi ya, This is just an idea and i don't know if you would want to use it, at art college we used to preserve our work by painting it with p v a glue, as this dries clear to forms a shell once dry. Don't know if this would damage writing in pencil though. Julie

Can some one advise me on the best way to protect ,and pereserve ,two hard backed exercise type journals, written in pencil ,date's from 1891 to 1913, Typed copies and CD ,have been made, I just wish to protect the originals. Bob
