could anyone help us to trace our adopted children,as new to this,and do not know where to really start,just know that our daughter d.o.b.13-3-1982 was adopted mi blamorgan area of south wales and our two sons,one whos d.o.b.8-3-1986 was adopted in surrey and our other son who's d.o.b. 23-9-1987 was adopted in the winnersh / winnersh triangle area of Berkshire,if you think that you may know or can possibly help us we would be very greatful.with many thanks

I think it's going to be quite difficult for you, even though the law has been changed recently. I think you may have to contact Social Services and the courts where the adoptions took place - at the end of the day, the laws were put in place to protect the anonymity of the children and their new identities. I'm not being hostile or unsympathetic, just trying to point out that there is a reason for it being difficult. Jay

Hi Jeanette, You will need to contact the Social Service Department in the area where the children were placed for adoption. You could ask for a letter to be put on their files in the event that they ever wish to seek their natural parents. Other than that I cannot add to the advice already given.Be aware it may open up a can of worms that can have a major effect on all parties concerned including the adopted parents.
