Sites like this one are very good if you are writing a family history. It is so much more interesting if you have background info. to add to your facts and figures. Makes it more interesting for other people to read. Susan

Hi Susan, I have had a quick peek at this site and it is veru interesting. As three sides of my immediate family all lived in the St. Georges in the East area of London during the mid to late 1800s, I now have a picture of how they lived. I have found info that several of my grt aunts were in service at quite a young age. Kathlyn

I found this site with some very helpful background information into the lives of domestic servants during the Victoria era. Many of my London rellies were in domestic service and I found this information very interesting - www*ourwardfamily*com/victorian_servants*htm Of course replace the * with dots. Susan
