Absent voters list 1918/Surrey?

Hi can anyone advise me where i could find the absent voters list for 1918. I am trying to discover some facts about my gt grandfathers time during WW1. I know his no, and the medals he received but am trying to discover what regiment he was in so that i can place him, maybe in certain battles ect, i know his address was 27a Marion Road, it could be either Mitcham in Surrey or come under Streatham Vale. I am stuck so would be grateful for any pointers many thanks yvette |

Yvette You could try looking in your library or records office for that information (could well be in both) - have you tried googling? Another thing to look at which will give you a good idea of what he was doing during the was is to look on the roll of honour which can be found on 1837 online. It should give number, rank, name, address and a brief outline of what he was doing. Good luck Snowdrops |
