Hi Joan It's worth having a look at http://www.parishregister(.)com/ which has transcribed a lot of records for the docklands area of London. This includes Ratcliff and Stepney areas so it is worth a try. It costs a small fee to view the records but well worth it if you find someone. A tip - if you think you have found the person you are looking for, download everyone for that surname rather than the one person because it costs the same fee and you might discover some siblings. Just be aware that some parts of the East End came under Essex in the 19th century, such as West Ham, Palistow etc, so some records could be at the county office in Chelmsford.

I've looked on Ancestry and other computor sites. I was hoping to visit the records office to find parish records perhaps?

Where would be the best place to go to look up records of ancestors who lived in St George in the East / Mile end / Ratcliff before 1837? Regards Joan
