I have lots of already related (cousins, mostly) marrying, and the GR tree building feature is not up to the job. As has been suggested, the best thing is to keep your tree data offline and PAF (downloadable free from the LDS site) is very good for the price (!), and a much safer place to keep your data than on the server of someone else's commercial site. You can upload a copy of your offline tree as often as you want to update it, and you can use the filtering faclilities of PAF to upload just parts of your tree if you want to. No serious family historian would rely on GR for maintaining their data. |

As I understand it, if you're inputting the details into GR directly you have to duplicate them, but if you're importing a GEDCOM file then it'll handle them correctly. My g. g. grandparents were cousins, so when I finally figure out how exactly the were related I'll have the same problem myself... |

Simple answer is that you can't on the GR tree. Other programmes do allow for that, but not this one. |

I have a brother and sister who married a brother and sister in my tree. How can I show this without creating duplicate records? |
