Anyone with ancestors from the Western Isles might be interested in a website that opened last month. At the moment it only covers part of the Isle of Lewis but the aim seems to be to extend that coverage to the whole area. You can look up a croft and see all the people who have lived there, follow individual people and look at photographs of people and crofts. It is well worth a look just to see what can be done online. Thanks for that Martin. I will have a look- just out of interest though, as mine S.Uist and Ardnamurchan. Now anything on S.Uist would be fantastic! Iz |
