Hi Helen, Have just had another look at the handwritten census, I enlarded the writing!!!! and Pott probably is Patt and it does look like Honor. Many thanks for checking it for me. Its great that I have found these people. Brenda

As I said, Pott looks like Patt (probably a mistake for Pat, a pet name for Patrick) and Honvi looks like Honor which is indeed a female name. That's what they look like on the census image.

Hi Helen, I did ask Sean(a very nice Irish gentleman working next door)and he seemed to think Pott could be a nicname for Patt - Patrick? and Honvi might be Gaelic. Just wondered if anyone else has heard of them. The writing on the census for Honvi isnt very clear. Brenda

I have just found my great great great grandparents on the 1851 Census. Ancestry has transcribed them as Pott(born c 1816)and Honvi(born c 1811)Devitt both born in Ireland, one of their sons is also named Pott. Has anyone heard of these names or have they possibly been misread. Any help appreciated. Brenda
