My g/g/grandfathers mother died between 1839-1846 . Ive found a possible death for her on B M D. However ive noticed there is another female death listed next to hers with the same Page Vol number etc. Normally i would say as they have the same details they would have been twins. As this is the only link i may have so i was wondering , if this is her and she also died in childbirth would they give the mother and child the same page and vol number? many thanks Sarah

I'm a little unclear about your message........ Are the names you refer to the same? The deaths listed on any given page are the ones which were registered at approximately the same time...........there is no need for any relationship between the people concerned. If you could give more detail, we could check out the info............. Reg

Is it the same surname? Or does it say female? Iwould say then the baby probably died at the same time as her or soon after. But you won't know for sure unless you get the certificates......Not necessarily twins, they would share the same Birth vol and page number details but are unlikely to share same death details unless died together. Hi Details Jan 1/4 1841 Tunbridge Kent vol 5 page 366. Jane DUNK and Phillis DUNK. As you know on the later deaths it shows the age of the person. I hope that Phillis is the mother and it also fits in as this death is 1841 and i know she died 1839-1846. Thanks

The fact that two names are on the same page means nothing at all, it is just the order they were registered in. If the mother and child's death were registered at the same time, there is a strong possibility that they woulld appear as consecutive entries in the register, but no guarantee.

Ann: You'll have to repost that e-mail address with brackets around any puntuation marks within it. GR's software wrecks most internet and e-mail addresses, presumably in order to prevent third-party advertising.

Have you found the DUNK family in 1841? If you find which parish they are in at census time, there is a chance that the burial records for that parish might have a little more detail about the recently deceased females. Gwyn

Hi Thank you to everyone for there help. Ive not managed to find their births, or their details on the 1841 census. I ve found the husband my g/g/g/grandfather and the son Thomas my g/g/grandfather living together in Brenchley . The only document i have to prove her name, is the baptism record of 1839 of Thomas in Brenchley. I think i will just have to order the certifiate, its not a problem if its wrong. thanks Sarah

I believe that it'll accept [dot] gov [dot] uk web addresses, as well as [dot] org ones. I'm not sure that it accepts any e-mail addresses at all, though. Maybe if you use the word 'at' instead of the symbol? This site's forum software must be about the dumbest on the planet!
