my husbands greatgrandfather killed himself in Broken Hill N.S.W. 1890 it was reported in the local newpaper as the inquest was held in the local pub ! they spared no details, and even the conversations were reported. If you know the dates local papers are sure to have a report, we got ours at the South Australian Library. Chris. |

It depends on the age of the records. Take a trip out to the State Archives at Kingswood, near Penrith. Try looking online also. www.records.nsw.gov.au I found an inquest summary line for my greatgrandfather. You get an idea from this where you search next. Not all files are available. Something happened and some records were destroyed. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Sorry I'm a bit vague but I can't remember fully how I got my info. Toni |

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain information from past coronial inquiries in NSW, Australia? There have been two suicides in my family tree, one in 1909 and another in 1969. I was interested to know if there would be more information about the deceased in the inquiry records and if family or the public are able to obtain copies / information. |
