The only national BMD index that I know of for USA is the Social Security Death Index - however, that only covers deaths, from about 1962 onwards. Other BMD indexes, where they exist, are on a state by state basis. Ancestry has quite a few, but you need a USA or World subscription in order to access them. Richard

Does anyone know if there is an American equivalent to our Free BMDs? Thanks Rose (ps - this was posted on the general board but got no replies. Here's hoping lol)
