Andrew, when did you last drive in peak hour traffic in an Aussie city. It takes me 45 minutes to get 8 kms at 7am. That's normal, and 8kms is a lot less than 8 miles. Actually my sister is living in London (Paddington) at the moment and tells me how easy it is to get anywhere.

Driving 300 km in Australia is a lot less hard work than 300 km in England! {grin}

Don't you just wish you could duck down to the records office? My lot have been in Australia for ages(some since the first fleet) and I'd just love to be able to get to some of the places and search properly. I'll drive thousands in kms here so it would be a breeze over there. Perhaps we should start up a Aussie group for when the Brits are asleep.

I am looking for a John Teare b. 1829 IOM. He married Isabella Taggart b. 1833 IOM, in 1951 ( dont know what month as yet ) in Manchester Cathedral. Found them in 61 1nd 71 census. He was a carpenter/joiner. My dilemma is if they married after the census was taken how do I find them? In anticipation, Jackie
