i have just got marriage cert for great great grandparents the g g granddad it states his dad where i do start looking for who he married and his parents i no gggranddad was born in ireland but dont no where anyideas as to where to look for ggggranddad and family please thanks

You may be stuck then if the father had a commonplace name and commonplace occupation. Do you know if the dad came over to this country with his son or not? What date was the marriage? Merry

hi monty i havent a clue lol gggranddad was born in ireland but the tree downover every1 was born over here if that makes sense the marriage is in 1857 in sunderland

i found the groom with mrs in 1861 census but cannot find him in 51 or 41 census

So it's likely that the groom didn't arrive until he was an adult (perhaps) which may mean his parents didn't come over (bad news for you). Without a massive stroke of luck you are not going to know where in Ireland they came from. Are you aware of any other family members? Witnesses on the marriage cert etc? Merry

think i am going to need a miracle lol on the certificate as u no r both bride and grooms fathers and the witnesses r both faothers
