Just been back on to Lancashire BMD and notice they are now putting the mother's maiden name on the birth index - when did they start doing that? It's only recently I know but WHOOPPEE for anyone listed there!! Checked Yorkshire BMD and they're now doing it too. It's obviously going to take some time to add them all to the indexes already there so don't everyone rush there thinking they're going to find them straight away - but when they've caught up what a resource it'll be!! .

Yes, It really IS brilliant!!! - Unfortunately they only seem to have done the Oldham area so far - Can't wait for them to do the rest. Dea x
