Yes, I think so. I had failed to find him in 1851, and had assumed that he might have died, and the name is clearly Abden - never come across it before. Now where am I going to find his baptism & parents? |

I have found him in 1841 census: HO107/908/4 The image is indistinct, but I think it does say Abden, although Ancestry has the name indexed as Alden, b1796. I'm still no nearer to identifying him, though. |

I have an IGI marriage record between Abden Hadley & Maria Cuttler, 2 Apr 1820 Halesowen, and at least six christening records for children born of those parents. I have never come across this given name before. I can't find a christening record for him of likely date (1785-1800?) (or actually for any date, anywhere). I have Hadley ancestry, and would like to place him if I can. Does anyone have any ideas? I can look at the archive next time around, but Her Indoors let me go only last Saturday, and it may be a while before I get a half-hol again! |
