Hi All I am considering having a company do my research in Ireland that charge £25 per hour. Any one out there had research done? Is this a fair price. I have a fair amount of info - addresses for birth certs to be ordered, family names so I think they should be fairly easy to spot in a census. How much would they be able to do in an hour? Would be grateful for advise regards Angela |

A relative of ours in Australia had some Irish research done in this way, with mixed results. You probably need to book at least half a day to make it worthwhile, so you are looking at £100 outlay. You also need to think very carefully what it is you are trying to find, and where the information might be , and agree a plan of action with the researcher in advance. If possible try and obtain som samples of their work in advance so you know what too expect for your money. Irish research is not that easy, so good luck. |

Thanks for that Peter I hadnt thought of asking for examples of their work. I'll do that before I go any further £100 - gulp! May have to ask some family members for contributions! Thanks again Angela |
