1871 census for St. Giles in the Fields District 12. RG/10 Piece 347. Folio 55. Page 45. Two people are entered under the names of Harry Ivey Crowley and Mary Crowley. They are the 9th and 10th people up from the bottom of the page. which is almost unreadable. I have looked at the transcribed version, which gives Mary`s birthplace as ROOMATELTY Ireland. This does not sound right to me. Also cannot read their occupations. If anyone can give me their opinions I would be most pleased. Many thanks. I

That has to be one of the worst ever to try and read, I can't make out anything.....sorry. Having said that, his profession looks like market something and hers as ditto something else.....

Is that Harry called Humphrey in the 1861? Only says Ireland for both of them. Both in St Giles and both costermongers.

Thank you everybody for all your help and suggestions. Sorry to be a bit late in thanking you. I was hoping that Mary was Mary Finn in a previous marriage married to Michael Finn both born in Cork. There is a death for a Michael Finn in 1869 St. Giles approx. the right age, so Mary could have re-married by the 1871 census. I am sure that is her in 1881 as Mary Crawley age 60 with her daughter Mary Haley but have not been able to find a re-marriage for Mary Snr. Will just have to keep on looking.
