Gran was born in Esh winning Co Durham, Could anyone give me any help with pointing me in the right direction for trying to find out if there is any information held anywhere about her or indeed any pictures in brochures I have tried googling but cant seem to find anything of any help Thank you xxLynnxx |

Lynn, Ive had a google too and there does seem to be a fair bit of info on Esh Winning. Looks like the Co op even had its own band! I would contact Durham Records Office and I noticed that their website came up for Esh Winning and see if they can point you in the right direction. I would have thought that in that sort of mining community the Co-op was very important - there is an Esh Winning Co-operative Hall that came up on the google - so records would have been kept. I hope you find something useful at the Records Office - they may be able to direct you to a fruitful source. |
