Finally found details I've been searching for for months, trying to input on Genes tree and keep getting a notice saying 'there was a problem connecting to Genes'

Is it only one name you're having trouble with, or the whole tree?

OK, try this: Click on Immediate Family in the left-hand column of this page. Go to the relative you're having trouble with, and click on Edit. Fix any obvious mistakes (e.g. a date in the Place box), then click on Save changes even if you haven't actually changed anything

Whenever I've come across that message the problem has usually been either the date in the wrong format (eg 3 SEP 2006 rather than 03/09/2006), or no country of birth entered. It's been happening a lot since I imported my tree as a GEDcom file. Gordon

Hello Gordon, It was just extra information that I needed to add - no dates. I see that Genes are inputting a new tree form and wondered if that was causing problems...but its sorted now .. just double checked and the info is there... thanks to Mary
