Chickabiddy Duckie I suppose what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, but you mustn't count your chickens before they are hatched, or lay all your eggs in one basket. Cartoon egg and chicken in bed together, having a smoke. Caption: I guess that answers THAT question! |

Thanks Snowdrops - That reminds me of a time when I was in a Restaurant in Barcelona - I happened to glance at the English translation of the menu (which I hardly ever understand), and it had on there - 'Foul soop' (obviously chicken soup, but it quite put me off!! I just LOVE these mistranslations! Dea x |

Hi, My mind is wandering again, as it often does !! I have just seen on Glen's thread, someone affectionally call him 'chicken' !! - Something I have often heard and indeed use myself from time to time. BUT - It started me wondering: I believe in Scotland, the word 'hen' is often used. Up North, they often use 'cock' In parts of Leicestershire, they use 'mi duck' Women are often referred to as 'chicks or 'birds. Does anyone know where all this comes from? Dea x |
