The births on Ancestry. instead of having to trawl through all the images, they seem to have put them on there. They arent all there because i searched for me and my sister and we werent there, but its definately a start |

Many names after about 1910 have been supplied by researchers who are interested in particular families rather than as part of the ongoing general transcription. For example, my wife's mother b 1923 is there because she is a descendant of the Baggott family. In fact virtually the entire Baggot family has been transcribed in this way right up to 1983, over 3,000 names since 1950 alone. |

Ancestry takes its BMD transcriptions from FreeBMD. You can find a few names for many years up to 1983, but the main transcriptions only go up to 1911 for births and deaths and 1915 for marriages. You can see the coverage charts here: http://freebmd.rootsweb*com/progress.shtml |

It's always worth checking the local BMDs for more recent transcriptions: http://www.ukbmdsearch.org.uk/ |

I know more stuff is being added, as I found some marriages 1912 and 1915 that weren't there when I first had a sub to Ancestry. nell |
