Martin is the 'Head' in 1871..............it says Mary is his sister's dau............frankly, I don't believe it. I think she is his sister-in-law, and the 'nephew' and 'niece' who appear below her are her children........... (Peter and Mary Ann) Reg |

ok, im trying to find the connection between my gt grandfather william lyons who was staying as nephew to head of household in the 1891 census. the head was named as patrick mc grath b1841 ireland. his wife was mary b 1837 galway. now, on the 1871 census i have found a mary mc grath b 1837 galway, married. and heres where it got me confused. theres a whole bunch of mc graths but she is named as sisters daughter?????? im probably being thick but i dont understand what relation it is and to whom. could anyone make sense of it plz so i can see if shes the right person? heres the source Source Citation: Class: RG10; Piece: 2962; Folio: 97; Page: 39; GSU roll: 836428 thanx carolexx |
