Hi Allie Sorry for missing your previous post. I would be grateful for any info you can supply. As I said I really like Legacy as it's so easy to use but am having to consider other options. Thanks, Jennie

Hi Stu I have sampled Reunion and found it ok apart from its inability to show cousin to cousin marriages, and I seem to have plenty on my tree. My favourite is Legacy and I'm using it at the moment on an old pc. It is a great programme and I've tried it on my Mac but have to use Virtual PC which slows it down so much it's useless. As I don't want to have a pc connected to the internet I was trying to find some other programme. There is absolutely no way Bill Gates will ever get me. I used pcs at work for many years but have always had a Mac at home and I know which system I prefer. Thanks, Jennie

Hi Jennifer I am a mac user for part of the time, and I did post a reply before about this! I have downloaded a tree make for my mac which is called GEDCOMX - 8. I googled gedcom for macs and downloaded this for free. If you want to print up etc you have to pay extra, but I do this on my pc. (I know, its rubbish compared to macs!) If you are interested I will find the link again for you Allie

From FTM. What about Macs? If you're a Macintosh user and deeply into genealogy, the limited choices of genealogy programs may be enough to push you into Bill Gates' clutches. Of the programs listed above, only Family Tree Maker and PAF have Mac versions, and the Mac version of Family Tree Maker lags far behind its Windows counterpart in features. There's also one full-featured Mac-only program, Reunion. Family Tree Maker (v. 3.02) www.familytreemaker*com Personal Ancestral File www.familysearch*org Reunion www.leisterpro*com

Does anyone know if it is possible to use FTM with a Mac? I have looked at previous threads on here and cannot find any ref and also looked at FTM's web page FAQs and there's nothing there. I would have contacted them direct but it appears there is a tel no. but no email addy. Jennie
