Blimey! How did you know they were your family?

She may be mistranscribed. Have you tried just her first name, birth year +/- 2 years and birthplace? I've found some very unlikely mistranscriptions, that spelling differences wouldn't have found, such as Lenorthey for Smoothy Thorne for Moore Wadd for Broad Rurard for Broad Bach for Beck Curvey for Purvey (on two separate censuses!) Hems for Emms etc.

Hi guys, I can't find my great nan on the 1901 census yet she appears on 1881 & 1891 and I know she gave birth in England in Feb 1902. Is there any reason why she might not appear on the census? I have looked under all possible spellings and other people have looked for me but no joy. One suggestion put forward was that she was living with the father of my nan (born 1902), however, her birth cert states father unknown and there is a family story that he was quite a wealthy man that would have nothing to do with my nan or gr nan because she was a servant. Any ideas much appreciated Thanks Leila
